About Colin Boyle
Colin Boyle is a freelance photojournalist based in Chicago. He attends Northwestern University in pursuit of a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Journalism with a minor in Spanish language.
Born and raised in Chicago, Colin was constantly influenced by his mother and grandfather, both of whom shared a passion for photography.
Colin received his first DSLR going into high school and halfway through his freshman year, he started his own business: Colin B Photography. During that time, Colin began his first job as a freelance photojournalist with MileSplit, which he has been the Photo Editor of for its Illinois site since 2015. Throughout his time in high school, Colin experimented not only with his photography but also with his business model.
Currently, Colin focuses his work on photojournalism, video journalism, investigative reporting, breaking news, concert, portrait and event photography. In the past, he has covered events such as three U.S. presidents, historic events across the world and music legends such as The Rolling Stones.
He has spent extensive time as an intern at The Chicago Sun-Times, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Daily Northwestern and Infobae – one of the most read Spanish publications.
Colin’s work have been featured in USA Today, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Chicago Tribune, The Atlantic, DNA Info, Chicago Sun-Times, The Daily Northwestern, Infobae, Inside Publications and Northwestern Athletics, as well as various publications via Associated Press and USA Today. He has also had his work licensed to platforms such as Chicago Magazine, Emily's List and AL Media.
